Pre-1840's Mountain Man Rendezvous Skills Encampment

LOCATION & PROGRAM TIMES:

The Pre-1840's Mountain Man Rendezvous & Native American Skills Encampment will be located on the Southside of the Missouri Capitol Lawn.

Demonstrations will be available between the hours of 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM on Saturday, June 4th.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Stroll through an authentic Pre-1840's Mountain Man Encampment hosted by the James River Rendezvous featuring approximately 15 authentic campsites demonstrating how families lived, ate, and worked during that era.

Pre-1840's Outdoor Skill Demonstrations and Activities for this event will include:

  • Dutch-oven Cooking & Baking with FREE Samples
  • Soap Making
  • Candle Making & Dipping
  • Woodcarving
  • Hoop Trundling
  • Flint Knapping
  • Corn Grinding
  • Primitive Fire Starting
  • Weaving and Quilt Work
  • Flute Playing, and so much more!

Native American Outdoor Skills Demonstrations and Activies will include:

  • Beading
  • Hide Tanning & Painting
  • Moccasin Making
  • Tomahawk Throwing
  • Feather Crafting
